Have been involved in Database
Development as a Software Engineer and been involved
in a number of projects done by the company. Some of
them are listed below.
Butt
Brothers Database Management System:
Designed and implemented an
Artificially Intelligent Database Management System
for Butt Brothers using UML technique and Multi-tier
Architecture. The system was intended to make use of
the capabilities of a client/server environment to
provide the most efficient system for the management
of Exports, Finances, Human Resource and Marketing
Departments of the client organization. Was
responsible for the analysis and design of the whole
system. Also provided the prototype of the system
using MS-Access as Back-end and Visual Basic as
Front-end. The final design was to be implemented
using MS-SQL Server as Back-end and Visual Basic as
Front-end. Was responsible for providing the
groundwork for the final design.
Shahkam Textile Pvt. Ltd
Performed System Analysis and
prepared design for Shahkam Textiles Pvt. Limited.
Also developed a prototype for the proposed system
using MS-Access as back-end and MS-Visual Basic as
front-end. The requirement was to develop an
Import/Export control Management along with a design
for a Production Management System that fulfilled the
requirements of ISO-9002. Was responsible for leading
the team that was assigned the project.
MS-Office Active Components in JAVA
Was supervising a project for
enhancing MS-Office capabilities to be used over the
Internet using Java and Visual Interdev. The objective
of the project was to build lightweight JAVA
components consisting of MS-Office like capabilities,
to be able to transfer data across multiple operating
platforms. The components to be developed would be
complete applications providing similar features as
MS-Office. The code would have to be highly optimized
so as to provide the lowest download time. The project
is still in the feasibility stage. Was responsible for
providing the necessary analysis and design
suggestions. Also developed a working prototype, which
provided MS-Word like features.

Started
as a junior programmer in June ’97 while doing
my Masters in Computer Science. Was a Software
Engineer and Team Leader when I left the company
in January ’99. Worked on the following Projects
during my stay with the company:
Sardar Enterprises
Performed analysis and designed
MIS system for Sardar Enterprises. The requirement
of the project was to provide a Database
management system that could handle Finances,
Marketing Policies, Human Resource, Stock and
Inventory Control, Warehouse Control and Import
Management System. Was responsible for the
analysis and design of the project. The prototype
was developed using MS-Access and Visual Basic.
Later it was upgraded to Oracle and Visual
Basic.
Escorts Investment Bank Pvt. Ltd
Provided Consultancy to Escorts
Investment Bank Pvt. Limited on Y2K compatibility
and date turnover according to the requirements of
The State Bank of Pakistan. Was responsible for
advising The Bank into taking necessary measures
and safety precautions so that the bank database
would not crash when the Y2K bug occurred.
